THE MASSABKI AWARDS
You are the "Life Blood" of NAM
Every year, adult NAM members (26 and older) are eligible for the Silver Massabki Award, the highest honors bestowed on NAM members. This award is named after 3 martyred Maronite Brothers of Damascus, Francis, Abdel Mohti and Raphael, who refused to renounce their faith. The award is bestowed on members of the apostolate who have contributed extraordinarily of their time, talent, and treasure on a parish, regional or national level.
This is an opportunity to recognize a NAM member (individual or married couple) of your parish for their exceptional service to the Maronite Church. Be sure to check the eligibility and qualifications on the form prior to submitting.
Who are the Massabki Brothers?
The Massabki brothers, Francis, Abdel Moati and Raphael, were Maronite martyrs, slain in Damascus in 1860 in part of a dramatic anti-Christian uprising in Syria and Lebanon from April to July of that year, when more than sixty villages were destroyed in the Shouf and the Matn.
On October 7 1926 His Holiness Pius XI proclaimed the beatification of the three brothers.
